All children K - 8 are eligible and encouraged to play! AYS&B provides organized baseball and softball for children in the Altoona School District, Township of Washington, and nearby communities.
The rules for our Rookies division are put together and maintained by AYS&B. For all other levels, AYS&B follows the rules of the Chippewa Valley Baseball League (CVBL) and the Chippewa Valley Girls Fastpitch League (CVGFL). More info can be found here.
The AYS&B bat rules can be found here.
The AYS&B COVID-19 guidelines can be found here.
Registration runs from January 1 - March 15 each year.
Select the grade your player is currently enrolled in for school. Once you select the grade, the registration will display the eligible programs.
Requesting for your player to be on a team with others or with a certain coach is something you can do in the notes section during registration. While there are no guarantees, we will do our best to accommodate requests. Remember, AYS&B is a great way to meet new friends too!
Absolutely! AYS&B wants all children to have the opportunity to play. Please reach out to any board member for more information.
AYS&B is a non-profit organization and registration fees are used to pay for field rental, insurance, player uniforms and shared equipment such as balls, bats, catcher gear, first aid kits, batting cages, etc.
Late registration is reviewed on a case by case basis and depends on a variety of factors. If you've missed the registration cutoff send us a note and we'll see what we can do!
During registration you can let us know if you are interested in being a head coach, assistant coach, or team parent. Once registration ends we will know how many coaches are needed and will reach out to those interested. Anyone interested in volunteering with AYS&B in any capacity is required to complete a background check.
